Bruce C. Beitzel

Bruce C. Beitzel, 88, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Monday evening, November 28, 2005 at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.

He was the son of the late Jacob L. and Anna C. Roth Beitzel.

Born in Auburn Twp., Tuscarawas County on February 11, 1917, lived on the family farm until 1940 when the Beitzel family moved to a farm in Crooked Run Valley where he spent most of his life. In his later years, he accepted employment at Division 11 ODOT where he retired 15 years later. He received a plaque for his loyal service as truck and equipment operator.

Bruce was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover and past member of the Farm Bureau council. He was a devoted husband.

Bruce is survived by a brother, Herbert (Isabelle) Beitzel of New Philadelphia and a nephew and several nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma (Prysi) Beitzel, a sister, Martha Beitzel, and a great nephew, Celeb Doughty.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 2, 2005 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia with Rev. Dan Schaefer officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Phila. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11am.
