Calvin L. Bair, 72, of Dover passed on to be with his Lord on Monday, November 10, 2003 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia after a struggle of many years with Parkinson�(TM)s Disease.
He was born on August 16, 1931, a son of the late Vernon and Ina Buckohr Bair.
Calvin is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Alma Schupbach Bair. Also surviving are: his children; Vernon (Becki) Bair of Dover, Victor Bair of Uhrichsville, Valerie (Bill) Wenger of New Philadelphia, Vinton (Christine) Bair of Doylestown, his eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, his devoted sister Mary Lou Bair of Dover and a sister-in-law, Doris (George) Benedetto of Uhrichsville.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by and infant son, Vincent.
A 1949 Dover High School graduate, Calvin attained the rank of Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps serving stateside during the Korean War.
He owned and operated Bair Heating and Air Conditioning from 1959 until his health forced his early retirement in 1985. Calvin was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover.
A service celebrated Calvin�(TM)s life will be held Thursday, November 13, at 1:00pm in the First United Methodist Church, Dover with Rev. Dr. David Oliver and Rev. Jan Coffman officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson Chapter of greater Pittsburgh, 6507 Wilkins Avenue Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15217, the Alzheimer�(TM)s Association, 4815 Munson Street N.W. Canton, OH 44718, or to the First United Methodist Church, 1725 N. Wooster Ave., Dover.
