Candace L. Buckohr, age 82, of New Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Born December 10, 1942, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy (McKittirick) Marsh. Candace graduated from Dover High School and later studied at Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus. Foremost, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Candace enjoyed sewing from a very young age and was employed by Bobbie Brooks in New Philadelphia, Rich Industries in Brightwood, and retired from Euclid Garment Manufacturing in Kent. She had sewn everything from western wear to tuxedos to costumes to casket covers. Candace sewed and embroidered for her own enjoyment as well. She was also an avid reader, particularly of romance novels.
Candace is survived by her children, Tonya (John) Vest and Patrick (Heather) Buckohr, both of Canton, Charo (George “Ed”) Case of Dover, and Julie (Greg) Jones of Massillon; her grandchildren, Davie Harris, Richard Walters, Abigail Dennis, Helen Kail, Sarah Kelly, Rhonda Bonnell, Patrick and Joseph Buckohr, Kayla and Lucas Yoder and Victoria Jones; her many great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandson.
Honoring her wishes, Candace will be cremated, and there will be no visitation or ceremony.
