Carl A. Bixler, 80, of Strasburg died Monday, July 28, 2003 following a brief illness.
He retired from Dover Chemical after 21 years of service.
Born February 27, 1923 in Bolivar he was a son of the late Roy and Wilda McWhinney Bixler.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Strasburg and had served on church council. He was also a member of Tuscarawas County Radio Club and was a 50 year member of the Strasburg Masonic Hall. He graduated from Bolivar High School and General Motors Technical School and was a veteran of WW II.
Carl is survived by his wife Irene Pfaeffli Bixler with whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on October 28, 2003.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Carl was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jocelyn Bixler; brother, Cullen Bixler and a sister, Edna Kienzle.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 11:00 am in Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg with Pastor Fred Grosse officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Strasburg is handling services.
