Carl R. "Corky" Teter, 81, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the Community Hospice House following a brief illness.
Born June 13, 1934 in Leesville he was a son of the late Sylvester and Ruth Moore Teter. He was also preceded in death by his nine brothers and sisters.
Corky was a salesman who retired from Smith Weber Food Brokerage after many years of service. He attended Midvale United Methodist Church, enjoyed visiting family and friends in the nursing home, landscaping, gardening and helping his son, Rick cut and split firewood. Corky proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his children, Rick Teter and his companion, Kelley Host of Gilmore, Harold Teter and his companion, Kim Abbott of Waynesville, Ray Teter and his companion, Beth Cell of Painesville; Susie (Jerry) Ellwood of New Philadelphia; sister, Shirley (Wayne) Inman of Georgia; 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his companion of 30 years, Rose Snyder.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Corky may do so by visiting the online obituaries and flowers link on the funeral homes website.
