Carmi Stauffer

Carmi Stauffer, 83, a lifelong resident of Dover died Wednesday morning, April 11, 2012 in Union Hospital following an extended illness.

Carmi retired in 1991 from General Electric at Dover where she worked for nearly 30 years.

She was born Jan. 12, 1929 in Dover, the daughter of the late Mike and Helen (Curcio) Petrullo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Stauffer with whom she was married 60 years. He died Feb. 15, 2008. She was also preceded by a twin brother, Tony Petrullo.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover where she was a greeter for many years. She also enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends. She loved decorating and manicuring her home.

She will be sadly missed by her family including two children Linda (Maurice) Schilling of Dover and Tim Stauffer of Columbus; three grandchildren Kim (Tom) Dunkes of Granville, Justin and Branden Schilling both of Columbus; three great grandchildren Sophia, Liam, and Emma Dunkes; five sisters and a brother Maria Cowan of Florida, Lena Grandison of Dover, Charles (Alice) Petrullo of Dover, Lucy (Dwight) Wheeler of New Philadelphia, Judy (Lee) Neading of Dover and Betsy Gingery of Florida; a sister in law, Jean Petrullo of Dover along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating Carmi's life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:30am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8pm. Christian Wake services will be held Friday at 8pm.
