Carol A. Dumermuth

Carol Ann Dumermuth, 67, of Dover died Sunday, April 1, 2012 in her home following an 8 year battle with cancer.

Born in Dover on June 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Chester A. and Margaret L. Meiring Stemple. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her father in law, Robert Dumermuth and a niece.

Carol was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Following graduation, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. in New Philadelphia. There she met her future husband, Robert D. Dumermuth whom she married on June 15, 1968. She also worked at several area businesses before retiring in 2008 from Dover City Schools where she was a cafeteria worker. Carol enjoyed family get togethers, especially time spent playing with her grandchildren. She also liked going out to eat with her husband and friends, playing cards and solving Sudoku puzzles.
Besides her husband Robert, she is survived by three sons and their wives, Ron (Trisha) Dumermuth of Dover, Ryan (Heather) Dumermuth of Concord Township and Rod (Tiffany) Dumermuth of Dover; seven grandchildren, Chase, Samantha and Lucas of Dover, Nolan and Blake of Concord Township and Dylan and Carly of Dover; sisters, Mary Kay (John) Reed of Dover and Jean (William) Dumermuth of Bolivar; mother in law, Wilda Dumermuth Fillman of Newcomerstown; five nieces and nephews and her life-long friend, Clara Mason.

A life member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, her funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Joes with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 5-8 pm with Christian Wake services starting at 7:45.
