Carol E. Baer

Carol E. Baer, age 90, of Dover, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Community Hospice House, New Philadelphia, following a short illness.

Born March 4, 1923 in Canton, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Helen Callentine Emig. Carol graduated from Dover High School, and, on March 6, 1948, married Robert W. "Bob" Baer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother a homemaker whose life centered around her family and friends. Carol was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and was fond of gardening and the wildlife around her home. She especially enjoyed feeding and entertaining those who came to visit.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Cindy (Dave) Weber of Dover; her five grandchildren, Andrew (Susan) Weber of Rootstown, Renee (Winston) Warr of Juneau, AK, Sheri (Jeff) Laughlin of Dover, Jonathon (fiance, Rachael Helwig) Baer of East Sparta and Hannah Baer of Dover; her six great-grandchildren, Austin and Brooke Laughlin, Michael, Matthew, and Mitchel Weber and Athena Warr; as well as her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her step-mother, Florence Emig, who reared her; her beloved husband, Bob, on May 17, 2010; her son, Thomas L. Baer; her sister and her two brothers.

Carol will be cremated in accordance with her wishes. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Saturday, April 20, 2 4 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 4, officiated by Pastor Brian Flood. Following the ceremony, there will be a meal in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
