Carol Immel

Carol Immel, 65, of Dundee, died Friday, Mar. 21, 2008, in Union Hospital, Dover, following an apparent heart attack on Wednesday.

Born, Aug. 15, 1942, in Malvern, she was a daughter of Clarence Edward Martin of Uhrichsville, and the late Oranna McNutt Martin. Carol was a homemaker a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were truly her joy.

Carol attended New Life Center Ministries in Barnhill. She enjoyed singing, and in years past, was asked to perform at various different churches. She liked going shopping, and also collecting angel figurines.

In addition to her father, Carol is survived by her husband, Merlyn Immel, whom she married on Aug. 30, 1963, in Sugarcreek; a daughter, Donna (Tom) Thomas of Dundee; a son, David (Theresa) Immel of Dover; four grandchildren, Justin and Kimberly Thomas, and Brian and Brandon Immel; three sisters, Mary (Dave) Abbuhl of Massillon, Naomi Martin of Uhrichsville, and Darlene (Dave) Berry of New Philadelphia; four brothers, Bill Martin of Bolivar, Sonny (Ruth) Martin, Eddie (Jane) Martin of Strasburg, and Dan (Karol) Martin of New Philadelphia; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her mother, Carol was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Bailey.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, Mar. 24, 5 8 p.m. A funeral service for Carol will be held Tuesday, Mar. 25, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Fred Battles officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens, Dover. Following the committal, there will be a meal in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard.
