Carol M. Wardell

Carol M. Wardell, 85, of Strasburg passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Park Village Health Care Centre.

Born on April 17, 1929 in Cuyahoga Falls, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle Cartright Jenkins. She is also preceded in death by her sister; Ann Wood; brothers, Neil, Tom, and Dale Jenkins.

Carol graduated from Dover High School and was the co-owner of Jimmy's Concessions for several years. She enjoyed reading and gardening, but most of all, loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church.

She will be sadly missed by her sons; Mark (Jennifer) Wardell of Parma, James (Mary Ellen) Wardell of Strasburg; daughter, Heidi (Jeff) Ross of New Philadelphia; sister, Kate Studer of New Philadelphia, two brothers, Donald Jenkins of Dayton and Ronald Jenkins of Dayton; grandchildren, Trisha (CJ) Shamp of New Philadelphia, Jacque (Kurtt) Peters of Dennison, Chase (Amy) Ross of New Philadelphia, Allison Stutzman (companion, Darren Yosick), Melissa (Scott) Green of Waverly, Ohio, Tina (Jerod) Ramnytz of Lancing, Michigan, Mark, Grace, Julianne Wardell all of Parma; along with eight great- grandchildren, and one great -great grandchild.

In honoring Carol's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Leggett officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 until the service starts at 11:00. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
