Carol Mae Mcdonald

Carol Mae McDonald, 77, of New Philadelphia passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at New Dawn Health Care Center following an extended illness.

Born on April 11, 1940 in Baltic, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Florence (Domer) Reidenbach. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. On June 25, 1960 she married Robert McDonald, who survives.

Carol graduated from Baltic High School in 1958. In 2000 she retired from the former Handy & Harman. She was always active and loved going on joy rides with Robert. Carol loved to bake and cook for her entire family. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She loved polka, gospel, and bluegrass music. She always worried about her family and loved taking care of them; especially her grandchildren. She also loved all of her granddogs.

In addition to her husband, Robert, of New Philadelphia, she will be sadly missed by her children; Cheryl (Perry) Beichel of Fresno, Robert McDonald II of Millersburg, Rhonda VanFossen of New Philadelphia, and Beverly McDonald of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Devin McDonald, Korey Herron, Haven VanFossen, Kaylee Fowler, Karlotta Postlewait, and Isaac Beichel; eight great-grandchildren and she was expecting another in May; brother, Gary Reidenbach of Baltic, two sisters, Verda Erb of Sugarcreek, and Elsie Kaiser of Millersburg.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4-7 pm . A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ron Heasley officiating. Interment will take place at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
