Caroline E. Swegheimer, 91, of New Dawn Health Care Center, Dover, died Apr. 1, 2005, in Union Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born Mar. 22, 1914, in Strasburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Clara Luke Rentsch. Caroline was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed by Litty�(TM)s Bakery and the Eiler Candy Shop. Caroline belonged to St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover, the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens and the Town and Country Homemakers. She enjoyed all types of arts and crafts.
Survivors include three sons, Fred Swegheimer, Daniel (Debbie) Swegheimer and William (Barbara) Swegheimer, all of Dover; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Page, of Dover; a sister-in-law, Arlene Rentsch also of Dover; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Swegheimer, in 1964; two sisters and five brothers.
A graveside service, open to the public, will be held Tuesday, Apr. 5, at 10:30 a.m., in Dover Burial Park with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Following the committal, family and friends are invited to a reception at the Dover post of the V.F.W., 220 W.
