Carolyn J. Kinser

Carolyn J. Kinser, 77, of New Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Hennis Care Centre in Dover. She was born on November 15, 1945, in Dover to the late Earl and Rosielee Keeton York. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four sisters and a brother,

Carolyn had an accomplished career that spanned 19 years at Speedway in Dover. Her dedication and hard work led her to retire in 2007 as a respected manager. She was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to her employees and customers.

Outside of her professional life, Carolyn's true joy came from her family. She was a devoted wife to Thomas Kinser, whom she shared 36 beautiful years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Ronald (Diana) Flickinger of Strasburg, Deborah Betts of New Philadelphia, Christine Rudd also of New Philadelphia; great niece, Nikole (Lyndsey) Betz of Hannibal, Ohio; grandchildren, Kylie (Alex), Ty, Ronica (Kory), Cody, Evan, and Christopher; and four great grandchildren brought immeasurable happiness into Carolyn's life. Her vibrant personality and caring spirit will be remembered by her surviving sister, Earlene McInerey of Texas, along with her many nieces, nephews and beloved dog, Max. 

Carolyn also found solace in her faith as a member of the Salvation Army. She taught Sunday school and was an active member of the Women's League within the organization. Her devotion to serving others reflected her kind and compassionate nature.

A service celebrating Carolyn's life will be held on Wednesday, October 25th starting at 7:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Captain Andrew Beher officiating.  The family will be greeting friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
