Carrie "Dixie" M. Biechler

Carrie Marie "Dixie" Biechler, 63, of Strasburg died on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Union Hospital in Dover following an extended illness.

Born on the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune in North Carolina on November 30, 1952 she was the daughter of Carl "Frosty" and Beryl (Koon) Biechler. She is preceded in death by her father.

Dixie graduated from Strasburg High School with the class of 1971. She worked for the former Stone Container for over 15 years. She was currently working at Primary Packaging Inc. (PPI) at the warehouse in Dover.

She was an active member of LifeWay Church in New Philadelphia where she taught primary Sunday school and also taught the 3, 4, and 5 year old's at Children's Church. She enjoyed Quilting and belonged to several quilting groups. She also loved watching old TV shows.
In addition to her mother, Beryl, she will be missed by her brother; Barry Biechler of Strasburg; and her aunts, Mary "Lucille" Fiddler of Bolivar, Betty Bisel of Hillsdale, MI, Geraldine Bonheimer of New Philadelphia, and Joann Chambers of Hillsdale, MI.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. A celebration of Dixie's life will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. Interment will take place at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at LifeWay Church in New Philadelphia.
