Catherine Gribble, 91, of New Philadelphia passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover following an extended illness.
Born in Midvale on July 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Barbara (Molnar) Yuhos. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Curtis Gribble, who passed away October 11, 2002.
Catherine was a member of the New Philadelphia VFW Auxiliary and a longtime member of Schoenbrunn Moravian Church in New Philadelphia. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed garage sales and buying and selling antiques. Catherine was a kind woman, loved by all around her.
Catherine will be sadly missed by her children: Jim (Margaret) Gribble of Maryland, Judy (Tom) Farbizo and Karen (Bruce) McCrea of New Philadelphia, and Shirlie (Dennis) Kimmel of California; seven grandchildren, Curtis (Christy) Gribble, Julie (Mark) Horvath, Michael Farbizo, Chris (Tina) Farbizo, Amanda Farbizo, Zachary (Molly) Nemeth and Morgan McCrea; six great-grandchildren, Sean and Matthew Gribble, Madelyn and Samantha Horvath, and Cayla and Cole Farbizo.
In addition to her husband, Catherine is preceeded in death by 4 sisters: Mary DeMattio, Susan France, Barbara Wagner, and Annie Feister; brother Steve Uhose, and two half-brothers, George and Joseph Kalec.
In honoring Catherine's wishes, there will be no public calling hours or services. Memorial contributions may be made in Catherine's honor to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave, SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia are handling the arrangements.
