Charles A. "Bud" Hootsel

Charles A. “Bud” Hootsel, age 70, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in Hennis Care Centre, Dover.

Born November 2, 1949, in East Palestine, he was the son of the late Clinton A. and Helen Oglesby Hootsel. Bud moved with his family at a young age to New Philadelphia where he graduated high school. He then went on to serve honorably with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married the former Melinda “Mindy” Brown, who survives, on January 4, 1975. Bud was employed by Vasco in Massillon, from which he retired.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Some of his favorite pastimes were following NASCAR and running remote control cars.

In addition to his wife, Mindy, he is survived by his daughter, Heather Baker of Sherrodsville; his grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Masyn and Colton; and his great-grandchildren, Braxton, Navey and Brantley.

Honoring Bud’s wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no visitation or ceremony. Arrangements are in the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover.
