Charles "Chuck" D. Colvin Sr., 62, of Dover passed away at home on Thursday, January 8, 2015 following an extended illness.
Born on January 7, 1953 in Dover, he was the son of the late Carl and Stella (Inherst) Colvin. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Paulun, and his sister, Nancy Colvin.
Chuck graduated with the class of 1971 from New Philadelphia High School. On June 10, 1975, he married the love of his life, Vera Hostetler, who survives. Chuck retired from Ceramic Tile, where he worked for over 30 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He lived in Tennessee for three years, where he thoroughly enjoyed the view from his front porch. He also loved watching the Indians, Browns, and Buckeyes. Above all, his grandkids were his pride and joy.
In addition to his wife, Vera, he will also be missed by his children; Becky (Jeremy) Renicker of Dover, Lisa Clark of New Philadelphia, CJ (Brittany) Colvin of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Jacob and Alyssa Renicker, Alexis, Brianna, and Chloe Clark, and Emmitt Colvin; two brothers, Larry (Laura) Colvin of Dover, Tom Colvin of Dover; and his sister, Mary Colvin of Dover.
A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Billy Hall officiating. Following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 5-7 pm.
