Charles H. Whitten

Charles H. Whitten, 84, of Bolivar died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Union Hospital.

He retired from US Ceramic Tile in Canton after many years of service.

Born June 15, 1921 in Mineral City, Ohio he was a son of the late Harold and Mabel Rood Whitten.

Charles is survived by two sons, Harold (Brenda) Whitten of Canton and Phillip (Sandy) Whitten of Bolivar; daughter, Phyllis Dierdorf and companion Thomas Stallard of North Carolina; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Charles T. Whitten; sister, Doris Readling; brother, Harry Whitten and his long time companion, Patty Barker.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover with Rev. Carol Clements officiating. Interment will be in the German Cemetery at Mineral City. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday one-hour prior to the service.
