Charles F. Lehigh, known to all as “Frank,” went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2024.
Frank was born on October 13, 1952, in Dennison to the late Robert and Mary Lou (McPeek) Lehigh. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Herb and Robin Lehigh, and his brother-in-law, John McDonald.
Frank graduated from Claymont High School in 1971. After high school, he began working at Miracle Adhesive and then for Timken for 27 years until his retirement on July 31, 2019.
Frank's biggest joy in life was his family and he loved sports. He played high school football, baseball, basketball, and track. He was a Claymont Star Athlete. Although he loved all sports, baseball was his passion. He played in the Cy Young Semi-Pro League at 16 years old and had a tryout with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also played for the Tuscarawas Indians Senior League into his 50’s and was inducted into the Tuscarawas County Class A Baseball Hall of Fame. Additionally, Frank enjoyed watching the Cleveland Guardians, Browns, and Ohio State football.
Frank is survived by his wife, Holly McDonald Lehigh, whom he married on July 19, 1991. He was also a loving father to Jason (Kathryn) Lehigh, Amber (Jay) Hunker, and Chris Sigler. He adored his nine grandchildren; Jakob (Ariel) Hunker, Makenzie Hunker, Gabby Hunker, Jarrett Hunker, Sophie Hunker, Olivia Lehigh, Charlie Lehigh, Simon Lehigh, and Cayson Sigler. He also leaves behind his siblings; Shawn (Sandy) Lehigh, Todd Lehigh, Marnee Lehigh, and Lori (Brian) Miller; along with his nieces, Lindsay (Matthew) Teague, Christie O’hagen, Marsha (Jeremy) Herron; his nephews, Fr. TJ Lehigh, Keith Lehigh, and Taravuth (Mirsha) Lehigh.
A graveside service will be held at Dover Burial Park. The date and time are pending. His nephew, Fr. TJ Lehigh, will officiate. Following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
