Charles A. Wasylik, also known as “Door Stop” or “Chic” passed away suddenly at his home in Dover on Saturday, January 4, 2025. 

He was born on February 27, 1931 in Dover and was a son of the late Alec and Anna Schott Wasylik. Chic was also preceded in death by his brother, John Wasylik. 

Chic proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps. Following his discharge, he worked for IF Manufacturing in New Philadelphia and retired after 36 years of service. Throughout his life, Chic exhibited a remarkable talent for handiwork, adeptly fixing most things around the house. He also took great pride in taking care of his yard and the surrounding grounds.

Chic is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nancy Dummermuth Wasylik whom he married on April 18, 1953; daughters, Nancy Ann Scott, Patty Fisher both of Dover; grandchildren, Michael and Shane of Dover, and Jeremy of Texas; three great grandchildren and his brother, Mike Wasylik of Florida.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Per Chic’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life services at a later date.
