Charlotte Katherine 'Kate" Simmers

Charlotte Katherine "Kate" Simmers, 95, of Dover died Monday, January 19, 2015 in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.

Born January 17, 1920 in New Cumberalnd she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Lucille Eberhardt Reardon. Kate was also preceded in death by her children, Emma Simmers, Betty Lou Douglass, Donald Simmers; brothers, Russell, Glenn, Emmett, John and James Reardon; granddaughter, Lonni Douglass and her son in law, Charles McEaneney.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Philadelphia, Senior Center and the Genealogical Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family and knitting.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother Kate will be sadly missed by her children, Katherine Ann McEaneney of Dover, Grace (Chuck) Long of Strasburg and Ronald (Cenie) Simmers of Canton; sister, Emma Slabaugh of Massillon; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Jason Caddy officiating. Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
