Chase Scot Miller

January 13, 1996 — July 29, 2020

Chase Scot Miller, 24 years old of Dover, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

Chase was a 2013 graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School. He was a fun-loving, deeply caring, kind, and generous person. His interests were playing guitar, writing music, art, especially painting, fishing, and being in the woods either camping, hunting mushrooms, or herping (looking for snakes and such.)

Proudly, Chase was an employee and the right-hand man to his dad, Wil Handrich, at Apex Paint Service. He was a hard worker who spent many hours making sure it was done and that it was done the way his dad had taught him.

He will be terribly missed and forever loved by his family who survives him including Wil and Debra Handrich, the parents that raised him. His sisters, Kailtlyn Miller, Alexis Brown, and Sylvie Handrich. His grandparents, Will and Marsha Handrich, Elise and Bruce Barthalow and Bob and Janet Berkshire, as well as great-grandpa, Casey Kaser. His wife, Brooke Miller, and her mother and sisters; Myra Devoll, Brigette Bailey, and Brittany Bailey. A very large family on all sides of uncles, aunts, and cousins. His birth father, Jeff Miller, and his sister, Abby. In addition to the family, Chase had many friends including his best buddies, Tim Cordray, who has been his best friend since 2nd grade, and Brad Foster, who was his roommate and dedicated friend. We also cannot leave out his cat, Henry, his two tortoises, and his loyal, sweet dog, Ari.

Chase was preceded in death by his mom, Alicia Handrich as well as his great-grandparents, who all loved him very much.

All of his life, Chase was a light. Everyone he knew, liked him. You could not go away from a conversation without feeling like Chase gave you something to think about. We wish he could have seen the light he had within him as much as we all did. Unfortunately, Chase was wounded by depression and mental health issues. Let no one feel that it is wrong or weak to ask for help; to go to therapy, to go to rehab, to be honest about how you feel and that you cannot ignore your mental health. Reach out and let those who love and care for you, help you. If you don’t have someone, call on one of us… his family.

According to Chase's wishes, he will be cremated. No services will be held. A celebration of his life will be conducted on Sunday, August 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the family farm.
