Chester R. “Chet” Wenger, 71, of Carrollton passed away at his home on Saturday, January 13, 2018.
Born November 11, 1946 in Sugarcreek he was a son of the late Charles and Sarah Floyd Wenger. Chet was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
He retired in 2007 from Galion-Godwin Truck Body Co. in Winesburg after many years of service. Chet was an outdoors enthusiast, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved watching all of the Cleveland sports teams and playing Euchre with his friends and family.
Chet will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Haidet Wenger whom he married on April 8, 1967; children, Lanett Wenger and her companion, Charles Sanders of Sherrodsville, Chuck (Jenny) Wenger of Midvale, Tammy Richardson and her companion, Scott Hamric of Minerva; sisters, Mary (John) Brink of West Lafayette, Carol (Manassas) Troyer of Louisville, Sheila (Doug) McPeek of Bolivar and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Ben Boggess officiating. Interment will be in the East Lawn Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
