Chris Lee Farmer, 52, of Dover, died Monday, February 15, 2010 in Cleveland Clinic. He had courageously battled cancer.
Born September 4, 1957, Chris was the son of Wilma Fire Farmer of Tiffin and the late Rev. Dr. Clifford Farmer.
He loved his job and was proud of being a steelworker. He worked as mill operator for Greer Steel.
"Selfless" is the quality that best described Chris. He always put others first. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his sons, Arlo & Gus, who survive. The brothers were blessed to call Chris their best friend, as well as dad. The three shared many common interests, but perhaps the best memories were made attending concerts together over the years.
Along with his mother Wilma and sons Arlo and Gus, a sister, Shannon (Randy) Wallick of Columbia, South Carolina, and their children, survive.
A brother, Fr. Bruce Farmer, preceded him in death.
Chris' life will be celebrated during a memorial gathering held Saturday, February 20, at 4:00 p.m. in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Friends may call in the funeral home from 2-4 p.m.
Those unable to attend or wishing to share a fond memory can sign the online guestbook for Chris by visiting the obituaries link on the funeral home's website.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover.
