Christie A. Barnhouse

Christie A. Barnhouse, 64, of Strasburg died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Union Hospital following an extended illness.

She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught at Mt. Hope, Norwalk and Dover Elementary Schools.

Born October 2, 1946 in Columbus she was a daughter of the late Marion and Ruth Capper Patton.

Christie was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover and the Women�(TM)s Fellowship. She was also a member of the Strasburg Eastern Star, National Chrysler Products Club, Veteran Motor Car Club of America and the Strasburg Lions Club, where she had served as President. She and Dick were avid antique car enthusiasts and owned a 1942 Dodge and a 1961 Chrysler New Port convertible. In her spare time she enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting and collecting Santa�(TM)s.

A wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Christie will be sadly missed by her husband, Richard Barnhouse; children, Fred Barnhouse of New Philadelphia, James (Sherry) Barnhouse of Dover and Suzanne (Bill) Patterson of Mineral City; grandchildren, Derek, Danielle and Garrett and great granddaughter Hailey

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Interment will be at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
