Christina M. Barkett, 34, of Canton and formerly of Dover, Ohio and Ft. Wayne, Indiana died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Akron General Medical Center following injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Stark County.
Christina was a librarian at the Canal Fulton Library.
Born January 22, 1980 in Dover, she was the daughter of Jim and Phyllis (Case) Barkett of Dover.
Christina often attended Dover Alliance Church with her family. She was a student at Ft. Wayne Northside High School before moving to Dover where she graduated from Dover High School in 1999. Christina had a love of the arts and reading. She enjoyed acting and toured with a production company. She had previously performed in the cast of Trumpet in the Land. She also had a passion for motorcycle riding.
In addition to her parents, Christina is survived by her brother, Joseph Barkett of Dover; paternal grandparents, William and Rose Barkett of Dover; her loving companion, Stephen R. Young Jr. of Magnolia along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Thelma Case.
Christina's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 beginning at noon in the Dover Alliance Church with Rev. Richard Rose officiating and a reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
