Christina “Tina” Reber, 81, a lifelong Dover resident, died Saturday, May 20, 2023, after declining health.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Josa; her daughter, Nikol Reber; sister, Judy Baker; brother, Terry Gray, her long-time, dedicated, devoted, loving cat, Digmite; her son in-law, Don Hochstetler, and Sam.
She is survived by her children; Baby Digmite AKA, Regina; Kelly “Mongolia” Perrone; Holly “Wally” Hochstetler; and Seth (Wendy) Reber.
Grandchildren; Katie “Mewpie” Perrone, Samson “Umpies” Hochstetler, Carly “Cookamonga” (Walter) Stull, Sophia “Losis” (Nate) McGuire-Jewell AKA Sophie Sophie Grandmas Trophy, the three Multures: Alaina “Heinous Lainus” Reber, Lilia “Lolloabell Fell In The Well” (Josh) Miller, Orion “Buckey” Reber, and the final round: Ava “Beava” Reber, and Isabel “Girly” Reber.
Lastly, great-grandchildren; Lane, Ryker, Sidney, Henry, Calvin, Otto, Dexter, her sister; Linda Gray, many nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.
It should be noted that all these names could be, and would be, interchangeable, but “YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE” and Digmite were also the go-to names for all of us.
She graduated from the Dover High School class of 1960 and was on the class reunion committee attending nearly every class reunion. She worked for State Farm and was a hostess at Lam’s for many years before retiring in 2002. She was an avid gardener, her yard was her pride and joy.
Tina’s family finds comfort in knowing that somewhere Nikol and Tina are cackling about cheese shoppers, slaying grammatical errors, fashion faux pas, and feline fabulosity.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that donations be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
Friends are encouraged to join Tina’s family at the local Marble Orchard/ Dover Burial Park for a graveside service at 11:30 am on Saturday, June 3, 2023. The service will be led by her friend, Rex Ray. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a meal at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard St., Dover, Ohio 44622.
She was a fantastic wife, mom, and grandma who always prioritized her family. Her home was always filled with laughter and love.
Even though she faced many challenges, she never lost her sense of humor. She was such a strong and resilient person, and we’ll never forget her for her kind heart, infectious laugh, and never-ending love for those around her.
We’ll miss her, but we’re glad she’s at peace now. Her spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear. Rest in peace.
