Christine G. Thompson, 64, of Dover passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer.
Born April 23, 1957 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late John “Bill” and Lois Hanna Baker. Christine was also preceded in death by her brother, John Baker.
Christine had retired in April of 2021 as the office manager of the New Philadelphia First Church of the Nazarene, and had also worked for Diebold in Canton. She was an active member with the Nazarene Church as she served on the worship team and volunteered her time to many different activities. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed teaching music lessons for many years. But her family was her pride and joy, especially her grandchildren.
Christine is survived by her sons, Nathan (Jenna) Thompson of Minnesota, Ben (Katelin) Thompson of Indiana; grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Vera and Hadlee; mother in law, Shirley Thompson; sisters in law, Patricia Gintz, Rae Ann Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Christine’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 7th starting at 2:00 pm in the New Philadelphia First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mark Maddux officiating. The family will be greeting friends on Monday from 5-7 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover, and from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the church on Tuesday.
