Christopher R. Moore, 45, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Dover was called home to be with the Lord Monday evening, Dec. 5, 2016 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Chris was an auto parts salesman with his longest tenure as an employee of the former Wayne Auto Sales in Dover. His customers followed him from place to place over the years because of his dedication and loyalty to them.
Born Nov. 25, 1971 in Dover, he was the son of the late William "Bill" Moore and Patricia McRobie Moore Avon. In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his mother in law, Brenda Lab.
He had many passions that included cars, four wheelers and boating. He enjoyed racing. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and loved spending time with his boys. He enjoyed following them in their participation in their various sports. He was a very generous man and anyone who knew Chris loved being around him.
Chris will be sadly missed by his family including his wife of 24 years, Marci (Lab) Moore with whom he was married on Nov. 15, 1992; two sons, Ryan W. Moore of New Philadelphia and Andrew "Drew" Moore, a student at Ohio University; a brother, James W. (Tina) Moore of New Philadelphia; his brothers and sisters in law, Ronald (Tracy) Lab and Nicholas (Amy) Lab both of Strasburg and Kassy (Heath) Hurst of Dover; his father in law, Ron (Marianne) Lab of New Philadelphia and nieces and nephews that include Zach & Kaylie Moore, Lucas & Garrett Lab, Brittani & Bradley Lab, and Brodie & Aubrey Hurst.
A funeral service celebrating Chris' life will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 beginning at 10:30am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Earl Ankrom officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8pm.
