Cindy L. Seward, age 64, of Dover, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Born July 13, 1960, in Massillon, she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Dorothy L. (Yackey) Seward. Cindy graduated from Strasburg-Franklin High School in 1978. Soon afterward, she was employed by Cosmo Plastics Co. in Wilmot, and later tended bar at the Shady Rest Army Navy in Beach City and at the Beach City AMVETS. Cindy was also a devoted caregiver for her parents in their elder years, and worked at the BellStore in Strasburg before her illness.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg. Cindy will be remembered fondly as being outgoing, caring and funny. She enjoyed going bowling and taking an annual “girls’ trip” with friends.
Cindy will be dearly missed by her brothers, Samuel D. and Gregory A. (Rebecca) Seward, both of Strasburg, and Jeffrey L. (Vicki) Seward of Barberton; her nieces and nephews. And her great-nieces and great-nephews. And a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew.
Besides her parents, She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Cynthia J. Seward.
Cindy will be cremated through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A private graveside service will be held in Strasburg’s Grandview Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a reception in the First Lutheran Church on Friday, September 20, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Instead of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Cindy’s memory be made to Ohio’s Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, or First Lutheran Church, 211 Eighth St. S.W., Strasburg, Ohio 44680.
