Claire J. "Joanne" Mcdonald

Claire J. “Joanne” McDonald, 86, of Dover passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 28, 2019 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.

Born October 26, 1932 in Bolivar she was a daughter of the late George “Fred” and Wilma Brown Hawk. Joanne was also preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Eckhardt and stepmother, Margaret Hawk.

Joanne had worked as the Office Manager at Giant Eagle in Dover for 20 years. She was an avid sports fan who loved watching the Indians, Cavs, Browns and OSU football. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, gardening and spending time with her family.

Joanne is survived by her daughters, Judy (Terry) Menges, Connie (Rich) Eckhardt, Debbie (Jeff) Wallick, Glenna Bair all of Dover; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Jason) Hall, Tammy (Rod) Kopp, Jamie (Terri) Menges, Chadd (Dani) Wallick, Jeff (Karen) Wallick, Jason (Kelly) Wallick, Todd (Lindsay) Wallick, Kayleigh Bair, Cody Rinehart and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Dorothy Hartzell officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
