Clara E. Kibrige

Clara E. Kibrige, 84, of Strasburg, Ohio and formerly of Grand Blanc, Michigan died Sunday, March 16, 2003 in the Mercy Medical Center following a one year illness.

She was a retired schoolteacher where she taught the primary grades at several Tuscarawas County area schools.

Born April 9, 1918 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Herman C. and Helen Bair Frank.

Clara formerly attended the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Louisiana, Michigan Retired Teachers Assn., and the Iota Nu Sorority. She was a graduate of Dover High School, attended Kent State University and received a bachelors and masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. She previously wrote articles for the “Weekly Reader”.

Clara is survived by her husband, William E. (Bill) Kibrige with whom they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on June 15.

She is also survived by two children William (Lorna) Kibrige III of Las Vegas, Monda (Loren) Jacobs of Morgan City, Louisiana; three grandchildren Colette Couzens, Lori Jacobs-Cyr, and Frank Jacobs and three great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Betty Mayer of Cincinnati and Norma Jean Killen of Brentwood, Tenn.; One brother, Herm (Shirley) Frank of Marion, Ohio; two uncles, Charles Frank of Bolivar and Howard Frank of Gnadenhutten.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard E. Frank.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 2 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 12:30 pm until the time of service.
