Clayton D. Reed

August 12, 1925 — June 29, 2005

Clayton D. Reed, 79, a longtime Dover, Ohio resident died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 in the Walnut Hills Retirement Community in Walnut Creek.

Clayton retired in 1984 from the accounting department at the Greer Steel Company in Dover where he worked for 31 years.

Born August 12, 1925 in Waynesburg, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred E. and Lucinda Hershberger Reed.

Clayton was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover. He was also a life member of the Dover Elks Lodge and the Dover American Legion Post. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War.

He graduated from Sugarcreek-Shanesville High School in 1943 and the Canton Actual Business College in 1945. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and especially loved traveling and photography.

Clayton is survived by two sisters Pauline Kaser of Sugarcreek and Arlene Reed of Barnhill; thirteen nieces and nephews, Linda Mathey of Magnolia, Carol Anile of Henderson, Nevada, William Crites of Greensburg, Pa., Clifford Crites of Watkinsville, Ga., Leslie Kaser of Sugarcreek, Dennis Kaser of Sugarcreek, Ronald Kaser of Dover, Mary Ellen Bryan of Sugarcreek, Janice Brown of Sugarcreek, Terry Reed of Strasburg, Kay Lain of North Canton, Larry Reed of North Canton, and Kent Reed of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters in law, Rita Reed of Walnut Creek and Ruth Reed of Sugarcreek.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, Glenn, Lester, George, Donald, and Thalia Reed and Dorothy Crites.

At Clayton�(TM)s request, cremation will take place and a public military graveside service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2005 at 4pm in the East Lawn Cemetery at Sugarcreek conducted by Rev. Larry Black and the Dover VFW.
