Clifford Andrew Pocock

Clifford “Cliff” Andrew Pocock, 48, of Canton passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2007 in his childhood home at Uhrichsville with his family at his side following a five month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born June 29, 1958 in Canton he was a son of Dean and Almeda Witting Pocock of Uhrichsville.

Cliff was employed as the Treasurer of the Stark County Educational Service Center and was also a State Examiner for the Auditor of the State of Ohio.

Cliff was a 1976 graduate of Claymont High School where he enjoyed playing football, basketball, golf and running track. Following high school he attended Bethany College in West Virgina and was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He also attended the University of Akron and received his Associates Degree in Accounting from Stark Technical College.

He loved sports and has been an Ohio State and Browns fan all his life. Cliff was also an avid bowler, having rolled three perfect games in his life and last year rolled an 816 series. He was a member of the United States Bowling Congress and the Canton Bowling Association. Cliff also enjoyed golfing and playing poker and the occasional “pick-up” basketball game with his friends.

A great son, father and friend Cliff will be sadly missed by his parents; two daughters, Angela Pocock of Columbus and Alisha Pocock of Canton; two brothers, Alan Pocock of Colorado Springs, Colorado and William and Ann Pocock of Grove City, Ohio; sister, Linda Pocock LeMonte of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; seven nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Cliff�(TM)s life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Mark Unrue officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville. Friends can call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 pm.
