Concepta ''Connie'' Contini

Concepta “Connie” Contini, 86, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, Mar. 13, 2003, in her home, following a long illness.

Born Feb. 4, 1917, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen Gezzi Contini. Connie attended St. Joseph schools, and was employed by the former Sad Iron Co. and Dover Appliance. She retired from Joy Manufacturing, New Philadelphia.

Connie was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover, and its senior citizens group. She enjoyed baking, and often made cookies for family and friends. Connie also liked working with ceramics.

Survivors include three sisters, Anna Contini and Florence “Flossie” Amicone, both of New Philadelphia, and Catherine “Jenny” (Marion) Warner of Dover; two brothers, Michael (Erma) Contini of New Philadelphia, and Patrick Contini of Midvale; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Antoinette DeRosario, Mary Schiavone and Lucille Duvall; four brothers, Daniel, Jack, Joseph and Lawrence “Larry” Contini, Jr.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Mar. 18, 2003, at 11 a.m., in St. Joseph Church, with Fr. William L. Arnold officiating. Those planning to attend are instructed to go directly to the church the morning of the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dover. At Connie�(TM)s request, there will be no visitation.
