Cranston H. Knouff, 89, of the Park Village Health Care Center and formerly of N. Walnut St., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, October 7, 1999 in the center following a brief illness.
He retired in 1972 as a carpenter for Gibbons Grable Company in Canton where he worked for 40 years. He also formerly worked for the Wendling Construction Company in Dover.
Born August 22, 1910 in Dover, he was the son of the late Clarence H. and Nettie Bates Knouff.
Cranston was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover and its adult bible class. He was also a member of Carpenters Local #69, Life Member of the Dover Elks Lodge, Dover American Legion, and was a US Navy Veteran having served during World War II. He was a 1928 graduate of New Philadelphia High School.
He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma M. Hoopingarner who died March 10, 1995.
He is survived by two nephews Bruce Throull of Cleveland and Eugene Throull of Akron.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
