Cynthia L. “Cindy” Conner, 68, of Strasburg, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 3, 2018 following a two year courageous battle with cancer.
Born February 8, 1950 in Barberton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Doris Grandon Arter. Cindy moved to Strasburg at the age of four, when her parents purchased a restaurant, which became known as Cindy’s Restaurant.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 23 years, Allen B. Conner; son, Max Grossenbacher Jr.; daughter, Amy (Charles) Long; Claire (Jesse) Bender, whom she loved and thought of as her own daughter; step daughters, Kelly (Derek) Glover, Haley Conner; granddaughters, Trisha Gibbs, Savanah Long, Ariel Eveland, Leela Glover, Miranda and Mackenzie Elvin; brother, Charles Arter Jr.; Thomas “Tylor” Jonas, whom she loved as her own son and her best friend since childhood, Ruth “Tyke” (Marv) Simmons.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was also preceded in death by her father and mother in law, Lail and Lola Conner.
Cindy will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family, and compassion for animals, especially dogs.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A private family service will be planned at a later date. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Cindy may do so by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home’s website.
