Dale Lee James, 67, of Dover, formerly of Canton, died Tuesday, January 2, 2001 in his home following a short battle with cancer.
Born July 27, 1933 in Canton, he was son of the late Lawrence & Helen Arvo James, and attended St. Benedicts School. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War and was a member of the Dover VFW. He loved spending time with family and friends, gardening, and golfing.
Dale enjoyed his work as a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years and retired in 1994. He was awarded a lifetime membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 AFL-CIO in 1999.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a brother, Loris ''Sonny'' James and sister, Irma Linerode.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, at 10:30 in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Pastor Paul Rudy officiating. Entombment will be in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4pm.
