Dale E. Liggett

Strasburg

Dale Edward Liggett, 82, of Strasburg was called to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was born in Canton on July 10, 1942, to the late Wilbur and Cedara (Feicht) Liggett. 

Following graduation, Dale enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Protector Radar Ship as an electrician during the Cuban missile crisis. Following his honorable discharge, Dale engaged in farming as owner /operator of JanDale Farms. He raised hogs, beef, hay, and grain. He worked as an electrician for Timken Steel Company in Canton for 32 years before retirement. He was a member of Lifeway Assembly of God Church in New Philadelphia. 

Surviving are his wife, Janet (Stilgenbauer), with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage; two sons, Shannon (Jessica) of Bolivar, and Shawn (Amy) of Dover; grandchildren, Morgan (Elliot) Enns, Benjamin (Shelly) Liggett, and Samantha Liggett; great-grandsons, Simon Enns and Hudson Liggett; his brother, Don (Pat) Liggett of Dover, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Graveside service for family and friends will be held at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor Travis Wright officiating. The New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military honors. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard, Dover, Ohio 44622.
