Daniel E. Graziani, 83, of Dover died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born September 18, 1931 in Fairmont, West Virginia he was a son of the late Frank and Carmella Cioe Graziani. He was also preceded in death by brothers, John and Albert Graziani; daughter, Marie Graziani; brother in law, John Tipi and sisters in law, Betty and Deloris Graziani.
Dan was a 1951 graduate of East Fairmont High School where he met and fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Mary Frances Tipi. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean War, where he served on the USS Rochester. Following the war, he graduated from Fairmont State College and received his Master's Degree from West Virginia University. While at WVU, he was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity. After his education, he was the Industrial Arts teacher at Strasburg High School, retiring in 1988 with 30 years of service. Through the years at Strasburg, he was the driver's education instructor; assistant football coach and helped coach boys basketball. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, NRA, and was an avid gardener and woodworker who also enjoyed all sports including hunting and fishing.
A wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather, Dan will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Mary Tipi Graziani whom he married on May 12, 1956; children, Mark (Lisa) Graziani of Barberton, Dana (Mandi) Graziani of Dover and Dina Taylor and companion, Tom Law of Utica; brothers, Joseph Graziani of Parkersburg, Paul Graziani of Wheeling and Michael (Sharon) Graziani of Ravenswood, WV; grandchildren, Alexander, Cole, Kyle, Mia, Ryleigh, Baleigh and Dominic; sisters in law, Alice and Margaret Graziani; brother in law, Nick (Delphia) Tipi and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Friday from 5-8 pm.
