Daniel F. Fearon

Daniel F. Fearon, 68, of Strasburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born February 2, 1950 in Dover he was a son of the late Hugh and Marjorie Eash Fearon. Dan was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cassandra.

Dan was a 1968 graduate of Strasburg High School. Following his graduation, he was employed at Hardy Coal where he operated a drag line for 18 years; he was then employed at the Garaway School District having been the custodian at Dundee Elementary, retiring in 2012 after 19 years of service. Dan was a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church, and served on the Garaway School Board from 2013 to 2018. He was a natural handy man, who enjoyed fixing small engines at his home. He and Marcia loved being with family and friends, especially playing cards, and also, spending the winter months in Florida. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed fishing, scuba diving and following the activities of his grandchildren.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Dan will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Marcia Klein Fearon whom he married on April 12, 1969; children, Sheila (Jamie) Miller, Mark Fearon, Jen (Rob) Coburn all of Strasburg, Shawn (JoAnn) Fearon of Dundee; siblings, Jim (Rose) Fearon, Randy (Patti) Fearon, Linda (Ron) Reiger all of Strasburg; grandchildren, Austin, Jordyn, Caitlyn, Kylee, Jessica, Shannon and great grandchildren, Isaiah, Abigail and Liam.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 10:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Dan Legg officiating. Interment will be at the Dundee Cemetery.
