Daniel J. “Dan” Bienko, 60, of Dover peacefully passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 after battling with illness throughout much of the year.
Dan was born on September 9, 1958 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Walter J. and Irene R. (Majdanik) Bienko.
Dan is survived by his mother, Irene, of Dover; sister, Janice Cosenza, of Dover; brother, John (wife, Jennifer) Bienko, of Glenview, Illinois; nieces and nephews Jaynie (husband, Jason) Martin, of Cincinnati, and Marcus, Victor, and Sophia Bienko, all of Glenview, Illinois; and great-nieces, Ella and Emelyn Martin, both of Cincinnati.
Dan graduated from Dover High School with the class of 1976, and subsequently earned his Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Akron. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover where he was active with the Knights of Columbus and also played in their bocce ball league. He loved spending his time outdoors, reading about nature, and listening to country music.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served at The Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm. A wake service will take place at 6:45 pm. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Oil City, Pennsylvania.
