Daniel L. Mcmurray

Daniel L. McMurray, of Dover, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Union Hospital at the age of 62.

Born August 5, 1946 at Dover, he was the son of the late Lee & Evelyn Barcus McMurray.

For 34 years, he was employed at Republic Steel at Massillon. He worked there until the plant closed, and later retired from Flex at Mt. Eaton.

He was an avid fisherman and had a true passion to be on the water. He loved participating in fishing tournaments and will certainly be missed by his many fishing buddies.

On May 21, 1977, he married the love of his life, the former Julia Petrella, who survives.

Other surviving family members include: two sisters, Virginia Dickey and Debbie (husband, Kevin) Barrett of Dover; his father and mother-in-law, Daniel and Frances Petrella; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dan and Sandy Petrella; along with several nieces and nephews.

Daniel's nephew, Rev. Jay Petrella, will officiate a service celebrating Dan's life on Wednesday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Interment will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday one-hour prior to services.
