Daniel W. English

Daniel W. English, 57, of Dover died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following a two year battle with lung cancer.

Dan was a certified public accountant and owned and operated the Swallen, Lawhun & Co. Accounting Agency in Canton. He also owned and operated Guiseppe's Restaurant in Dover.

Born March 13, 1956 in Dover, he is the son of Antoinette "Netta" Oddi English of Dover and the late William J. English who preceded him on Jan. 10 of this year. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his uncles, Joseph Oddi and Byron Ball and cousins, David Ball and Gina Harper.

Dan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. He was a 1974 graduate of Dover High School and earned his degree in accounting from Walsh University. Dan enjoyed making homemade wine.

In addition to his mother, he will be sadly missed by his family including his sister, Christine (Christopher) Helbling of Dover; niece, Sara (Adam) Studeny of North Canton and nephew, David Helbling of Canton; aunts, Florence Ball of Dover and Sandra Coutts of New Philadelphia; cousins, Cathy Harper of Dover, Joseph (Jean) Ball of Dover, Angela (Jamie) Dixon of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Michael Ball of Los Angeles, California, Marissa Ball of Columbus, and Carrie (Zach) Lendon of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dan's life will be celebrated with a funeral mass on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 beginning at 10:30am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. A reception will follow the funeral mass in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Wednesday (tonight) from 5-8pm.
