Darla Jean Limbacher, 67, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004, in her home. Darla had long struggled with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born January 23, 1937, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Isabelle Beitzel Blacka. Darla attended New Philadelphia High School, and had worked for many years as a shoe salesperson for area shoe stores, including Jaffe�(TM)s, Daniels�(TM) and Cooper-Smith�(TM)s. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Darla was a long-time member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. She often entertained family and friends by playing the organ and accordion. Additionally, she enjoyed bowling, working with ceramics, playing cards, Scrabble Bingo and working puzzles.
Survivors include three sons, Frank (Gale) Limbacher of Minnesota, Robert Limbacher of Virginia, and Steve (Connie) Limbacher of Stone Creek; a daughter, Marsha (Jeff) McRobie of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Jason Limbacher, Emily and Jesse Limbacher, Laura (James) Coleman, Joshua (Mindy) Limbacher, Seth and Kayla McRobie; a great-granddaughter, Megan Coleman; a sister and two brothers, Wanda (Richard) Shaffer, Richard (Maxine) Blacka and Wade “Bud” (Bonnie) Blacka, all of New Philadelphia; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Glenn R. Limbacher, on September 4 of this year; and an infant sister, Kay Eileen Blacka.
A service celebrating Darla�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, September 25, at 10:30 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 803 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, with Rev. Richard G. Rose of the Dover Alliance Church officiating. Burial will be Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Following the committal, there will be a reception in the Dover Alliance Church.
