Daryl W. Croley

Daryl W. Croley, 57, of Dover died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

Daryl was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 18, 1951, the son of Helen (Saylor) Croley and the late Eugene Croley.

Daryl worked 26 years for Verizon, serving as a technician and then as National Operations Manager before retiring in 2006. He recently started working with longtime friend, Rick Niblick doing home construction.

He had a passion for his family, his American Indian heritage, cooking, and his dog, Jack. Daryl's technical knowledge of wiring, computers, fiber optics, and telecommunications was appreciated by all who knew him. He was a 1970 graduate of Xenia High School.

Daryl is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Shannon Selway Croley; four sons, Benjamin Scott and Bryan Lucas of the home, Chris and his wife, Kim, and Michael of Wise, Virginia; two grandchildren, J.C. and Fallon, his mother, Helen of Brookville, Florida, his sister, Joyce Mysturik of Tipp City, Ohio; brothers, Gary of Tipp City, Rick of Newport, Florida and Ed of Scottsdale, Kentucky. He is also survived by his mother in law and father in law, Vicki and Soc Space of Dover and his sisters and brothers in law, Terri and Eric Smith and Wendy Busby and Doug Reedy along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service celebrating Daryl's life will be held Monday, December 29, 2008 at 1pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Cremation will follow services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11am until the time of service.
