David A. DeTorio, 65 of Dover, died May 5, 2007 after a courageous battle with Leukemia.
Born on June 3, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, David was the son of Helen Wassem-DeTorio of Stonecreek and the late Louis DeTorio.
David graduated from Dover High School and later worked for the Harrison News Harold in Cadiz, Ohio where he was an Advertising Representative. He was a member of the Dover Jaycees, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sugarcreek Business Association, and the Dover Business Men. He was also a member of the National Guard and was a Past-Exalted Ruler of the Dover Elks. David�(TM)s family will remember him as an enthusiastic Ohio State fan. Because cancer was present in his life, he began doing talks about the disease. Recently, he spoke for the Saturday morning Men�(TM)s Fellowship in Dover.
David married the love of his life, Beverly D'Anniballe on May 30, 1969. In addition to his mother and wife, he is also survived by a son; David A. (Tonya) DeTorio II of Dover, a daughter; Melissa (Ralph “Chip” II) Tate of Columbus, three grandchildren; Kristina Knotts of Dover, and Trevor and Chipper Tate both of Columbus, as well as his mother in law, and many brothers in law and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
David�(TM)s life will be celebrated with a mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dover on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends are invited to gather for calling hours at Toland -Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 from 4-8 pm. with a rosary service at 7:45pm. The Dover Elk�(TM)s will conduct a service starting at 7:30pm on Tuesday.
