David A. Keppler

David A. Keppler, 86, of Strasburg passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Born in Dover on March 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Thurman and Ethel (Harvey) Keppler. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John H.(Grace) Keppler, and his sister, Eva (Vaughn) W. McCracken; along with his son in-law, Thomas Breckenridge.

David honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Sparta Manufacturing after 32 years and also worked as a custodian at Strasburg High School.

On March 25, 1956, he married the love of his life, Alice Anderegg, who survives. He is also survived by his four children; Carrie (Steve) Preston of Dover, Vickie Breckenridge of Canton, Jabie (Paulette) Keppler of Strasburg, Robert (Tammy) Keppler of Strasburg; seven grandchildren, Cortney, Dane, and Brock Griffey, Maria and Peter Breckenridge, and Megan and Taylor Keppler; his step-granddaughter, Crystal; and great-grandchildren, Rylan, Reegan, Cayden, Cian, Lyla, and Lilly.

David was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg. He was also a Troop #72 Boy Scout Master and served on the Board of the Tuscazoar Foundation, and was a member of the Strasburg American Legion.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 10-11:00 am. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Jason Rissler officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg where the Strasburg American Legion will conduct a military graveside.
