David S. Horvath, 81, of New Philadelphia died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Aultman Hospital following a brief battle with cancer.
Born September 17, 1934 in Barberton, Ohio he was a son of the late Stephen and Edna Hutchinson Horvath.
David was a 1952 graduate of Barberton High School and a 1956 graduate of Kent State University School of Journalism where he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and was the creator of The Golden Circle Endowment Fund. He retired in 1983 from the Advertising Department at Gradall. Following his career at Gradall, he started delivering pizzas for Domino's in 1985 and continued until his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed collecting license plates and traveling to swap meets, being outdoors on his porperty, gardening and most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
David will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 50 years, Frances Carillo Horvath, whom he married on April 30, 1966; children, Dean (Mary) Horvath of Maryland, Susan (Troy) Schupp of Dover, Michael Horvath of Twinsburg; brothers, Don (Ann) Horvath of Barberton, Dennis (Barbara) Horvath of Arkansas; grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany), Nicholas and Ashley Albrecht, Alex Alberts, Anthony Schupp, Katie (Nathan) Etloff and two great granddaughters, Addie and Penny.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday, April 9 starting at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
