David W. Rennicker, Sr., 73, of Mineral City, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, in his home.
Born February 24, 1939, he was the son of the late William David & Bertha Abel Rennicker.
He worked for many years as a kiln operator for Fairfield Brick and later retired from Atwood Regional Water and Sewer.
David was a member of Dover's Community Baptist Church. He was also a member of both the River Valley Antique Tractor Pullers and Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Associations and always looked forward to their shows.
A loving husband and father, he was always keeping busy around the house, either gardening or crafting beautiful keepsakes in his woodshop. He honorably served our country in the Army.
His wife, Joan Lenore Rennicker, preceded him in death on November 3, 2011.
Surviving family members include: five daughters, Shelly Strauss and friend Chuck Meese of Dennison, Pamela Bair and Lisa Mathias of New Philadelphia, Cindy (Doran) Mizer and Tammy (Dusty) Louwerens of Mineral City; three sisters, Bertha "Ann" (Glenn) Mizer, Thelma (Tom) Swihart, Arlene (Junior) Hoagland; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents, David was preceded in death by a great nephew, T.J. Swihart.
Pastor Andy McClung will officiate a ceremony celebrating David's life on Thursday, March 15, at 4:00 p.m. in Community Baptist Church, Dover. Cremation, entrusted to the care of Toland-Herzig Crematory will follow services. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
